For example, our church budget over the past decade has seen a gradual increase, and we are able to meet budgetthroughgiving.Wehavebeenfortunatetohavemaintainedahealthyfinancial position over the past two years, despite the COVID pandemic and some reduction in Sunday morning attendance.Our church has budgeted to receive just under $3.5 million in 2022, of which almost 30% supports missions and evangelism activities in the Abilene area and around the world.12%29%PERSONNEL13%FACILITIES PROGRAMMING MISSIONS46%The church is free of debt and has been for nearly three decades. First Baptist has also held two capital campaigns in the past twelve years which have raised over $15 million, including the current Hope Center campaign, which has raised $8.8 million in contributions and pledges.FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH FOUNDATIONFormermembersofFirstBaptisthadtheforesightandphilanthropicvisiontoestablisha foundation for the church many years ago. This foundation serves as a way to provide financial security for the congregation to fund capital improvements, support mission work, and assist with unexpected facilities expenditures. The foundation currently holds total assets of over $10 million, not counting funds earmarked for the Hope Center capital campaign. 17'
